Hello. Allison asked me about IRC clients, so this is what I have to say.

Converstations is a free, mac osx like irc client that is simple to use and navigate. You are limited in features, though. This a great first step into IRC communications.

Colloquy, is a free, more robust irc client that is simple but can be expanded to be very advanced. The amount of features are limitless, because of the support for plugins. This is a great second step into IRC or for more advanced users.

I received this email from HDA Bob tonite:

"Allison, I just got to listening to your podcast tonight and there was an error.
First of all I didn't replace the big van with the Element. I still have the big van.
Second, the 1991 Accord Station Wagon was rear-ended and totaled.
That was why I got the new Element."

I did remind him that the step van DID get rear ended too (he had a bad run of that!)

so when I apologized in email to Leo for incorrectly giving Bart credit for the nowonder.com tip, he wrote this back to me:

You said during the podcast "check it out at songbird dot nest"....when you should have said "songbirdnest.com"."

some days I can't win for losing!

this did give me a chance to test out Podzinger - I went over there, did a search on NosillaCast, and then within that I asked it to give me any text around the word "songbird" and it came back with this quote:

" for use instead of iTunes and I'd never heard of it. Called songbird from songbirds nest dot com. Songbird runs on windows Mac and clinics in 30 languages. And it ..."

and I was able to listen to that exact snippet - and I didn't make a mistake after all! unjustly accused! the text is a bit off, it thought i said songbirds instead of songbird but other than that it's right. go check it out yourself at http://snipurl.com/1bgqj.

Just so you know, google docs can let you edit in real time with any collaborators. For example, if you are logged in to the document at the same time as another collaborator, you can see what the other person is doing live.

This is very useful for academic and collaborative purposes.

I recently bought the book "iWoz". What you can do is type in the price and have the isight take a snapshot of the cover....so you can really "see" what you buy....

The developers say they have some plans for the iSight's use....we'll just wait and see!

I really don't consider Blog software to be a CMS. Far too limited in terms of what it can do.

Drupal certainly is. Also, you can't talk about CMSes without talking about Joomla or Zope/Plone.
