Honda Bob is doing GREAT after his bone marrow transplant (who’s Honda Bob? I’ll explain that) and he gives us his review of the Apple Battery case for the iPhone 6 and 6s. I review the Olympus 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for the micro four thirds camera I own (spoiler, it’s awesome!) and I review the Shure MVi Digital Audio Interface and the companion MOTIV App for iOS. Finally I’ll broach the idea of whether we should have a Facebook group. I feel like resistance is futile.
Hi this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Mac Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Macintosh bias. Today is Sunday January 3, 2016 and this is show number 556. It’s that time of the year again, time to troop off to CES in Las Vegas for the week. I know people complain a lot about it but Steve and I had a BLAST last year. We love doing all the interviews and learning about new stuff that may or may not come to pass. By the way, if you’re wondering why I don’t mind announcing that I’ll be away from home for a few days, it’s because we have a fiercely loyal TSA Agent who stays in our house while we’re gone and takes care of the kittens. Tesla gets to go to our friend Nancy’s house (she calls it Camp Nancy) and she loves it there so we don’t even feel guilty.
I’m pretty sure I won’t do a Chit Chat Across the Pond next week, but who knows, maybe I’ll find someone fun to interview for longer than a 3 minute spot in the NosillaCast. Last week we had Bart back on the show. It wasn’t a Programming By Stealth segment but it was still pretty nerdy. He taught me how to write a perl scrip that I could embed inside TextExpander so that I could create what he calls “pretty” Markdown or HTML links. Instead of long gloppy-looking links, now I can easily embed links in the shownotes that simply say the domain followed by a / and three dots showing you that there’s more to it than what it shows. Very cool lesson and of course Bart has a detailed tutorial on it on bartbusschots.ie/….
