Next week the SMR Podcast guys are in charge of the show (good luck with that) so there won’t be a live show till May 6th. This week we’ve got a review of the Polaroid ZIP Mobile Printer done on location in Belgium with Peter Boodts, we’ve got two interviews from NAB: Vice Imaging about their Manfrotto grip for the mobile videographer and Hindenburg Journalist, the software I use for recording the NosillaCast. Then I’ll tell you about a crazy tool called mimoLive from Boinx Software that Steve and I are using to produce the live NosillaCast.
Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Friday, April 20, 2018, and this is show number 676. You’re getting the show early this week because Steve and I are off to Hawaii with Lindsay and Nolan and our grandson Forbes. Can’t wait to spend days floating in warm water with that little guy! And let me give a quick shout out happy birthday to my best friend, Steve. Today we turn 60 together and I can’t imagine sharing it with anyone else.
While we’re gone on yet another vacation, you’ll be in good hands. The SMR Podcast guys, Chris Ashley, Robb Dunewood, and Rod Simmons are going to hijack the show. They may bring Terrance Gaines on with them too. Their show, at smrpodcast.com is one of my favorite shows. It’s nothing like the NosillaCast but I guarantee there will be some tech sprinkled in and you’ll have a great time getting to know them. They’re all such great people and such great friends that you’ll laugh and have fun.
As a reminder, there won’t be another live show until May 6th! Of course as always you can go into the Discord chat at podfeet.com/discord on Sunday at 5pm Pacific Time if you want!
Clockwise #237
This week I had a blast being a guest on the Clockwise podcast again. Hosts Mikah Sargent and Dan Moren asked me and Caitlin McGarry to be on episode 237. We discussed Twitter’s delayed API changes, our favorite Mac menu bar apps, Apple’s rumored news subscription service, and Facebook’s latest privacy moves. I’d never met Caitlin before and found her an absolute delight. The way she described Facebook’s attempts to quell the anger was hysterical. Plus she’s a senior writer for Tom’s Guide and used to write for Macworld and PCworld. I had a blast and I hope you’ll follow the link in the shownotes to relay.fm/… and give a listen.
Chit Chat Across the Pond
As promised, Bart Busschots came on Chit Chat Across the Pond this week to explain the General Data Protection Regulation, also known as GDPR. This is a regulation that will take effect across the European Union starting on 25 May 2018 that’s designed to help protect the information of people in the EU. His shownotes will be a great reference guide if you’re in the EU and dealing with the regulations as you try to protect people’s data, and as a person in the EU to understand what your rights are. For those of us outside the EU you’ll get an understanding of how parts of the GDPR will still benefit you. The GDPR episode is #534 and can be found in both the Chit Chat Across the Pond and Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite feeds in your podcatcher of choice. I posted this as both a regular blog post and a Special Page which you can get to right from the new red button for Special Pages.

Patreon and Amazon
I have to tell you, patreon is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only have so many of you continued to show your support financially for the Podfeet Podcasts week after week, both Joyce Gravino and Adrian Luff jumped in with a new pledge of support his week. I’m thrilled have your trust, Joyce and Adrian, that I’ll bring content to you that’s of value. We also had a rather surprise new patron, none other than the Daily Tech News Show! That’s super flattering too. If you’d like to show your support like Joyce and Adrian and Tom, head on over to podfeet.com/patreon and sign up to give as little as a dollar per NosillaCast to help support all of the fine Podfeet Podcasts.
