NC #945 Anker 733 Two-in-One Charger, Light Diffusers and Large Print Keyboard, EV Efficiency and Range

Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday, June 18, 2023, and this is show number 945. Steve and I are in Houston right now to visit our son Kyle and his family, so the entire show was prerecorded without the live audience before we left.

We start with another quick review from Marty Sobo. I’ll step in and explain how to make a virtual switch to control Automations in HomeKit. George from Tulsa is back after a bit of a hiatus with a couple of products that make computing more accessible to him. Finally, in a rare appearance, Steve Sheridan joins me to explain why electric vehicles’ range is so much more affected by things like wind and towing than gas cars.

Thanks for this, George. I’m glad you found a few solutions to help you out, and it’s awesome that the keyboard was less than $30 and makes a big difference for you.

I feel your pain in trying to photograph the equipment we use every day — they look positively disgusting up close! When I do use my own images it takes me forever to get a non-revolting image and to clear enough stuff off my desk to make it not look awful. It was a very good choice to back up a bit to save us all from seeing the closeup.

Support the Show

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a new Patron for the Podfeet Podcasts. I understand that money has been getting tighter just about everywhere. If you’re feeling the pinch, I don’t want you to even think about donating to the show. But if you do have some spare change, I’d really appreciate it if you’d consider going to podfeet.com/patreon and finding an amount that shows your appreciation for what you learn here.
