NC #1027 How We Cover CES, Tombot Robotic Comfort Dog, Soliddd Vision Correction, Monar Canvas Speaker, Andrea Jones-Roy on Data Science

Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday, January 12, 2025, and this is show number 1027.

We’ve been getting a lot of people asking if we’re ok in Los Angeles with all of the fires. I want to assure you that we’re fine for now – the fires are about 12 miles from us. Our hearts go out to everyone affected.

Before we get started, if you were looking for the standalone version of Chit Chat Across the Pond with Bart from last week about what it’s like to be a Cyber Security Specialist, it’s now available in your podcatcher of choice. In all the excitement and work to get ready for CES, somehow I forgot to push it to the feed!

Since I forgot to push Bart’s episode last week, my automation gave me the wrong episode for this week’s Chit Chat Across the Pond with Andrea Jones-Rooy. Both episodes say in the audio that they’re #805. I’ve labeled them correctly in the titles but I wanted to clear up any confusion I may have created.

Since you’re listening to the NosillaCast, you may never have noticed this mistake but I needed the closure!

CES is a lot of work as I’ve described to you but it does cost money. Hotel rates go through the roof during CES (and we don’t stay in high-end accommodations I assure you), and food is super expensive. Luckily we drive, and I have an electric vehicle so at least we’re not paying for plane flights. If you get value from the CES content we bring to the table, consider becoming a Patron to help defray the costs. You can do that by going to podfeet.com/patreon and choosing an amount that shows your appreciation.
