This week we’ve got the Mini Metro iOS and Mac game review by Allister Jenks, tutorials on how to turn off NAT-PMP and UPnP on your router so you don’t become part of the botnet, Trekz Titanium Headphone review from AfterShokz by Bart Busschots, a handy diagram to explain the crazy new lineup of MacBooks Pro, and a review of CarPlay by Dorothy R.
Hi this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Mac Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Macintosh bias. Today is Thursday November 3, 2016 and this is show number 601. I know, I know, it should be 600 but Steve and i are off to Zion national park with our friends Dean and Suzanne and we won’t actually have Internet access on Sunday. So I decided to move 600 to next weekend and do 601 today! The good news is you’re getting your show three days early this week, because the show must go on.
This week’s show is only made possible by the generous donation of time for listener reviews by Allister Jenks, Bart Busschots, and Dorothy R. I’ve got some things to say too but it would have been a 12 minute show without these guys!
Chit Chat Across the Pond
Chit Chat Across the Pond this week was really interesting. Steve and I together interviewed Brian Johnson, retired electrical engineer, ham radio nerd, and remote control flier. Brian explains how he has taken his love of electronics and works to spread his enthusiasm to kids through volunteering at local schools. He even helped the kids at a local school talk to the Shuttle Endeavor over Ham Radio! It’s a light and fun episode that’s also nerdy and inspirational. Go check it out over at podfeet.com or subscribe to Chit Chat Across the Pond in your favorite podcatcher of choice.
Let’s start out with the dulcet tones of Allister Jenks:

Patreon and Amazon
Those Trekz Titanium headphones sound really cool to me. Since Apple has delayed the release of the AirPods, maybe even as late as 2017 if rumors are to be believed, the Trekz sound even better. It was very sweet of Bart to try to buy them through the Amazon Affiliate Link. Maybe if he’s convinced you to buy them, you could give it a try and it will work better for you. Remember If you buy things from Amazon anyway, starting from the big Amazon button over at podfeet.com sends a small percentage of the price over to help pay the costs of creating the podcasts.
If you’ve got actual pocket change available to give even more support for the show, your support over at podfeet.com/patreon would be very much appreciated. I’d like to thank our newest Patrons for this week, Trevor Drover, Steve Davidson and Landon Harris. I especially like Landon’s pledge – he said he chose $1.98 per NosillaCast published because $1.98 sounded like an IP address! How nerdy and awesome is that?
