Chit Chat Across the Pond
This week’s Chit Chat Across the Pond is another installment of Programming By Stealth. Bart had intended to do a revision episode, working on our Cellular Automaton, but I had a lot of questions and confusions about the homework from the previous installment. We decided to stop the recording, declare it Installment 49A, and 49B will be next week. That means 3 weeks in a row of Programming By Stealth. For those learning JavaScript along with me, that’s great, but for those of you who love the lighter version, we’ll be skipping over one of those.

HIFI ELITE Super66 Headphones by TJ
TJ joins us this week with his review of the HIFI ELITE Super66 that run around $69 on Amazon.
TJ mentions that there was a lag in Bluetooth when he used these headphones to monitor his own audio, but then later it seemed that they had somehow learned to not lag when he was listening to QuickTime. I can clear this up. When playing back audio, Bluetooth headphones have very little lag, unnoticeable to us.
But when you’re monitoring your own audio as you’re talking, your voice has to go out of your mouth, into the mic, into the computer, and then come back out to the headphones and into your ears. There’s simply no physical way that this can be done instantaneously. I had a lot of conversations with Dave Hamilton where I kept wishing it wasn’t true, but it’s simply physics that it can’t happen. Anyway, thanks for a great review, TJ, the HIFI ELITE Super66 headphones sound great!
