Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday, March 9, 2025, and this is show number 1035.
Audio PlayerThank You, Claude! – DTNS Live 4967 – Daily Tech News Show
This week I got to be on Daily Tech News Show Live, which is a new hour-long video-forward format for the show. After a quick hit of the news, we talked about the disaster that was Hulu live streaming the Oscars, some interesting concept laptops from Lenovo coming out of Mobile World Congress, how Steve and I got rid of our landline after 42 years, and how some people are actively using AI to better engage and teach their children. Look for episode 4967 for March 3rd called “Thank You, Claude” at dailytechnewsshow.com, or follow the link in the shownotes.

CES 2025: iFixit Smart Soldering Iron and Electronics Toolkit
I have to tell a story. About an hour after our interview with Eric from iFixit, Steve noticed that the audio cable that connects the digital mic receiver to his video camera was fraying. He was concerned about it failing while we were still at CES. I immediately said, I bet Eric from iFixit would have some shrink sleeve tubing that he could apply to it for us. Steve pointed out that the connectors on both ends were too big to accommodate a sleeve. I said we should go ask him anyway.
We ran over to Eric, he took one look at it and said, “I’ve got just the thing.” He whipped out a roll of their self-fusing silicone electrical tape. He cut a bit off, stretched it around the cable, and explained that stretching it holds it tight and helps it to securely bond with itself without any sticky gooey adhesive.
I love this story because it shows how valuable iFixit is!

I don’t know if you’ve heard of Zoe, who goes by the handle @ZoeBringsBacon, but I can assure you, she’s a delight. I first “met” her through Daily Tech News Show where she supports Tom Merritt and his team. She’s started joining the live show for the NosillaCast of late, even though the show starts at 1 AM for her. She’s also the newest patron of the Podfeet Podcasts! She went over to podfeet.com/patreon and pledged an amount that showed her appreciation for what she learns on the shows. You can be delightful like Zoe by coming to the live show, or by going to Patreon and supporting the shows.
