Hi Allison,
Thank you so much for including me in the most recent Chit Chat Across the Pond. It was great to see you, and talk with Robert and Allison about iOS 7.1.
If I had one wish, however, it would be that the word “expo” could be dropped from descriptions of the CSUN event. I don’t think I know anyone who refers to the week of education, networking, and geekery in that way. Despite the presence of an interesting exhibit hall downstairs, the real “action” at CSUN, and the reason experts in all sorts of accessible technology come each year, are the dozens of sessions taking place a couple of floors above. Where Macworld is a trade show with some sessions, CSUN is a conference with an exhibit hall. Having said all that, I really hope you got to see AbleNet’s switch control, operating Angry Birds on an iPad. It was most excellent.
It was great seeing you again, Shelly. I think Expo does describe it well – because your description of the parts of CSUN that I missed (the sessions) are exactly what I find so valuable out of Macworld. If someone just went to the exhibit hall at Macworld (as I do at CSUN) they would see a different experience than those of us that go in for the whole experience. I wonder what “expo” is even supposed to mean? Anyway – maybe some day I’ll take the time to attend sessions.
No, I missed the AbleNet Switch control – that sounds awesome!
